It was our ever popular Kid's Night Out in September. We had pizza first, then went swimming at the Nottingham Forest Club and then made ice cream sundaes for dessert. It was our last big splash before Fall. There were 17 kids who got together to enjoy Christian friendship with each other. They definitely played hard!!

There were 30 adults and children who went to watch the Astros vs. Pirates in September. It was an exciting game as the astros beat the pirates!!! We all did the "wave", the "seventh inning stretch" and some even got to "run the bases" after the game. It is always fun to cheer on the Astros along with good friends!! Are the Astros World Series bound?

Our trip to Dewberry Farm this year started with a great meal prepared by Grandma Edna to give us energy for the trip to the farm. After we arrived the kids climbed on the hay bales to pose for a picture and Mr. Howard took us on a trip through the corn maze. After the kids went down the huge slide we all went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins. The train, petting the animals and the playground were fun too! It was hot out there but all 30 of us had a great time!

While technically not a Kingdom Kids event, many of our Kingdom Kids were at the annual Church picnic and our Kingdom Kids photographer was there capturing the action. Our congregation sure was a hungry one last Sunday, cooks Howard & Wayne could hardly keep up cooking about 80 hamburgers and 80 hot dogs (which tasted great by the way : ). Thanks to all who helped set up, clean up and brought food and drink! The kids enjoyed an inflatable jumper, water balloons and just having fun being kids. Children of all ages enjoyed our annual picnic this year!

Over the river and through the woods to the Christmas Tree Farm we go! The Kingdom Kids had a fantastic time at the annual trip to High Star Christmas Tree Farm this year. After we arrived the kids played and played in the huge hay pile. Quite a few people ventured out and cut down their own Christmas tree! Many of the kids saw Santa and told him what they wanted for Christmas. We cooked hot dogs on open fires and made yummy s'mores. The night ended with a moonlight hayride through the farm. A wonderful time was had by all!

Shrek 2 was great and the weather cooperated until the end of the movie when a little rain fell. The popcorn, candy, cupcakes and all the snacks were yummy, thanks to all those who brought something. Family movie night is the invention of Mr. Howard Brown who thought one day “Can we show a movie on the side of the church wall?” He then turned Family Movie Night from an idea of his into reality and a really fun time for the families at CMLC. Family Movie Night is several times a year, next one won’t be until next year, but come one and come all and watch a movie with us then!

WOW! How much energy do these kids have?? We had a GREAT turnout at Novembers Kid's Night Out! We started off with dinner made by master griller Mr. Howard. Then off to hula hoop and jump rope games. Jewelry making was a big hit for young and old, girls and even boys. Off to the trivia quiz on the big screen, some of those questions were hard weren't they? Working up an appetite again the kids made their own ice cream sundaes with tons of toppings. After the sundaes we had bible study and the night was over already! Happy Birthday Jesus! The Kingdom Kids had their progressive dinner Christmas party and it was a big hit! We started out at the Fritschy's, house for appetizers and also did some Christmas caroling in the neighborhood. Then on to the Keusseyan's house for the main course which was umm, umm good! Last stop at the Browns house for desert and exchanging presents. All the kids (and adults) had a GREAT time! Special thanks to the Fritschys, the Keusseyans and the Browns for opening up their house to the Kingdom Kids and preparing all the great food!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the moms, dads, kids, grandmas, grandpas, and all who baked all the cookies for our cookie bazaar!! Thank you to all who donated cookie tins too, we had plenty! One last thank you to all who purchased cookies and donated, this cookie sale was very successful raising $564.50 toward our trip to Camp Lone Star.

While technically not a Kingdom Kids event, many of the Kingdom Kids were stars at this year's annual Sunday School Christmas program. Lone Star Christmas was a big hit and all who attended enjoyed the show. Many thanks to all the people who worked so hard on this project. Of course all the kids did fantastic job too!

Right after the Sunday School Christmas program, the Kingdom Kids had a fundraiser spaghetti dinner. The food was great, lasted just long enough and there was almost standing room only! The kids did great at serving the meal. A big thank you to all who helped set up, cook, and clean up. A super big wonderful THANK YOU for all who attended and made donations. All money collected will be used for the Kingdom Kids trip to Camp Lone Star in February.
